Payments
Collect customer payments through Open Banking in ProConnect.
Overview
ProConnect Payments lets wholesalers collect customer payments through Open Banking, powered by Fena.
Customers pay directly from their bank account. Your team can use Payments for self-service account balances, invoice collection, reusable payment links, QR codes, checkout payments, and tracked payment requests from the ProConnect admin panel.
Payments currently support UK banks. The live supported bank list is shown below.
Customer account payments
Customers can pay from their B2B Store account page when Payments is enabled.
The account page can show the customer's balance, overdue amount, last payment date, last invoice date, and any account notes you want to display. From there, the customer can choose to pay:
- The full balance
- The overdue amount
- A custom amount
This is the main self-service option. It helps customers settle their account without needing to call or email your credit-control team.

Invoice payments
Customers can also open their invoice list from the B2B Store account page.
Each outstanding invoice can show a Pay Now option. This is useful when you want the customer to pay a specific invoice rather than making a general account payment.

When the customer selects an invoice payment, the payment page opens with the invoice reference already filled in. If the invoice amount is available, that can be filled in too.

Payment links and QR codes
Payment links are reusable links that customers can use to pay you directly.
They can be completely blank, so the customer enters their own reference and amount. They can also be prepared in advance with a customer reference, invoice reference, general reference, or amount.
Payment links are useful for:
- Email footers
- Account statements
- Payment reminder emails
- Invoice chasing emails
- Printed letters
- Delivery paperwork
- Trade counters
- Mail-merged customer communications
The same payment link can also be shared as a QR code. A QR code is often better for printed material, counters, events, or any situation where the customer is using a mobile phone.

Admin-created payment requests
Your team can create a specific payment request in the ProConnect admin panel.
This is different from a reusable payment link. A payment request is created for a specific amount and reference, then your team can monitor whether that request has been paid.
This works best for real-time collection, such as:
- Taking payment while speaking to a customer on the phone
- Sending a payment request by WhatsApp
- Sending a payment request by SMS
- Asking for payment at a trade counter
- Following up a specific overdue balance or invoice
Admin-created payment requests are useful when your team needs to know whether that exact request has been completed.

Checkout payments
Payments can also be used during B2B Store checkout.
This works best when order totals are predictable and do not usually change after checkout. For example, it suits businesses where customers normally receive exactly what they ordered.
If your orders often change because of substitutions, unavailable products, catch weights, or manual adjustments, you may need an agreed refund or adjustment process.
WhatsApp payments preview
WhatsApp account information and Open Banking payments are currently in preview.
Customers will be able to message an AI agent on WhatsApp. Once the customer is authenticated, the agent can help them check account information such as balance, overdue amount, and invoice details.
The agent can then help the customer start an Open Banking payment by asking which bank they use and guiding them into the payment flow.
Programmatic integrations
Payments can be used in bespoke workflows through programmatic integrations.
This is useful when payment requests need to be created from another system, such as an ERP, finance tool, credit-control workflow, or customer communication system.
For most teams, payment links and admin-created payment requests are the simplest starting point. Programmatic integration is best when you already have a defined automated process.
